Big Disclaimer: This blog is for people who enjoy & believe in courting.

Recently, I ruffled Atlanta’s feathers with a little jokey-joke post that said, “If y’all live in Atlanta and he doesn’t take you out, he doesn’t take you seriously.” The boys formed an alliance in my comment section letting me know which parts of hell I should go to, respectfully. The post hit a million views and the comment section was so heated that some of the boys’ girlfriends came in to collect them.

That being said, I learned a lot that day about how to proceed with unsolicited dating advice. If you do not believe in courtship, this specific blog may not be for you. In my opinion, dating and courting (two different things) are an essential part of enjoying a new person and immersing yourself in new experiences.

My partner and I have been together for three years and we still date. We take each other out and we both love to say things like, “put your wallet away. I’m taking care of you tonight,” or “You deserve this.” It keeps us feeling lucky and desired. Who wants to feel like someone’s just gotten use to them? That’s not how I like to do love, personally.

I understand that our economy is funky and I don’t expect you guys to go to these restaurants all in the same week. However, I truly encourage you to choose one night to get dressed up, put on your favorite scent and give at least one of these a try.

Each restaurant on this list provides a unique ambiance, exquisite cuisine, and an intimate setting that is sure to give you all the feels you can handle.

1. Knife ATL

Between the plush seats, perfectly seasoned entrees and the dedication to quality service, the choice of this restaurant is enough to make your date aware you took your time on this one. Every dinner date feels like a special occasion at Knife ATL.

Their twist on Mediterranean fare is fresh, modern and easy to enjoy even for picky eaters. I highly recommend the Seafood Linguini for pasta lovers. Also, don’t knock it until you try it: the mushroom soufflé? Do it.

2. Osha

For date night: Osha provides a twist on traditional Thai recipes with modern flavors and techniques. The men may not care as much, but girls: the plates are beautiful. This is a super instagrammable spot!

If I were you, I wouldn’t leave without ordering the mussels and garlic bread and the seared salmon: in that order. Honestly, I love every single one of their appetizers. Don’t be afraid to get completely carried away. It’s worth it.

3. Saints & Council:

The food is very good. Don’t let the bougie vibe fool you, this is a restaurant that isn’t just about the looks. Their outdoor seating is perfect for a nighttime vibe when they light up the fire pit.

For couples who value a cozy and relaxed atmosphere coupled with delectable dishes, this is a go-to spot. It’s located by Colony Square in midtown, so I encourage comfy shoes if you plan to walk around the square after dinner.

4. Bar of Thailand

Drinks, drinks, drinks! If you love a good drink and heavy portions, you’ll love this spot. Bar of Thailand crafts an authentic Thai culinary journey in a lively yet intimate environment, enabling couples to explore intricate flavors while enjoying a fun, upbeat time together.

Expect to chat and engage at a restaurant like this. I recommend this for couples who enjoy a good bar experience.

5. Bar Ti Amo

I chose this one for my coffee date lovers who want just a little bit more than a coffee shop experience. Bar Ti Amo is a full menu Italian Restaurant that serves gourmet coffee, delicious Italian pastries and of course Italian classics.

The bright and clean atmosphere is great mood-booster for a first date or a first-time meet up. Make sure you start with an espresso martini! Those things are enough to get the conversation going!

6. Dirty Rascal

Located in the Thompson Hotel, Dirty Rascal is an Italian-American restaurant with the best lasagna in town! I know it’s hard to go wrong with Italian, but this restaurant gets it very, very right.

The entrees are savory and the wine menu is right on point. This is located in Buckhead so I’d encourage you to go dressy casual. By the end of the night you’ll be so full, drunk and happy, you probably won’t care what you have on.

7. La Semilla

Vegan lovers, pull up! This is a Latin plant-based restaurant with a beautiful open concept ambiance. Unlike a lot of vegan restaurants in Atlanta, this food is very well seasoned and not badly priced. You can accomplish a healthy dinner for two under $70 here.

I highly recommend the Crunchwrap, the Yuca Con Queso and the Plantano Split! If you aren’t open to trying new things, this may not be the date night choice for you and bae.

8. Mojave

My partner surprised me here for my 27th birthday a couple years ago and it was my introduction to aesthetically pleasing restaurants in Atlanta. This is a Cuban restaurant located on Howell Mill.

Mojave hosts a lot of events like Margarita Mondays and live music on Wednesdays. So, if you like dinner and a show, this is the spot for you. I highly recommend this place for double dates and new dates. If I were you, I’d try the street corn!

9. Verdure Kitchen & Cocktails

Let me be honest: my first experience at this restaurant was far from picture perfect. They had just recently opened and the staff was still figuring out their groove. But, here’s where they sold me: the customer service, transparency and the delicious cocktails. They can always have my money.

Verdure is new on the scene and they’re growing quickly because of their beautiful space and unique twist on African fare. I’d highly recommend this for a date night because of the romantic set up. If I were you, I’d do a weekday night for the best experience.

10. Lucian Books & Wine

Calling all my sapiosexuals: have you finally found the nerdy love of your life? Bring them here.

One of you will order a Merlot and the other will go, “Same.” You’ll talk about your favorite books and learn that you’ve read many of the same stories. After your second round of Merlot and several daydreamy thoughts about a future with this person, please don’t forget to order. The food is also very good.

Seriously, this spot is a special place for a special pair of people. I even recommend this for a date night alone. You’re never alone with a good book.

I hope you were able to get inspired while reading this list and your already setting up the reservation. Atlanta’s food scene is is truly a treasure for lovers and friends. The first step is getting out there. Enough scrolling, go get dressed!
